2nd Annual Metro Rotary Float Trip
Plan to join fellow Rotarians, families and friends for a float trip this summer. The itinerary is for everyone to arrive at Sand Spring Resort (10 miles west of Lebanon) on Friday, June 29 and set up camp. Floating will occur Saturday on the Niangua River, and everyone will return on Sunday.
This is an excellent fellowship opportunity! Costs are dependent upon what you wish to experience. There are separate rates for canoes, tent camping, 4-man raft, 6-man raft, tubes and kayaks. Pad sites are available for those who have campers, and a hotel is also close by for those who do not wish to “rough it.” Full bath, shower, restaurant/bar and pool facilities are available to all campers.
Casey Buckman is doing an excellent job of organizing this year’s event. He is happy to book your camping and floating reservations if you are staying in the campground. If you plan to stay in the hotel, you are responsible for booking your own hotel room(s). Please tell them you are with the Metro Rotary Float Group.
If you have questions or wish to learn more about this fun event, please contact Casey Buckman at 881-1050.

June is Rotary Fellowships Month!
We conclude another year with Fellowships Month. Metro Rotary has never had an issue with fellowship events, and I hope you have enjoyed our events this year as much as me! As this year comes to a close, I want to thank each and every Metro Rotarian who has assisted me this year, and helped to make Metro Rotary a truly special group of people. You are the best!
While this year is ending, I know Vice President Marcia Machens has been busy planning to ensure next year begins without hesitation. You may have noticed sign-up sheets circulating for various committee chairs and other responsibilities. If you have not yet signed up to assist, please do so in the very near future. Each committee has its strong points, and combined, they all total up to a successful year.
I know you will join me in supporting Marcia during her presidency and the other officers and board members. Thanks again to each of you! This has been a wonderful year, and I am honored to have served as your President!
President Jim
