2015 Score Against Hunger
The Food Bank for Central & Northeast Missouri will be holding its annual SCORE Against Hunger luncheon on Tuesday, August 25, at The Elks Lodge (4747 East Elk Park Drive). The event begins at 11:30 a.m., and tickets are available for only $10 each. Proceeds from this event benefit the important work of The Food Bank. Don Ludwig has tickets available for your purchase.
This is the 21st year for the SCORE Against Hunger campaign. The goal for the 2015 season is to raise $750,000, or 12.5 million meals, to help feed hungry families. The funds are restricted to acquire and distribute food, free of charge, to 129 hunger relief agencies including soup kitchens, shelters for the homeless and abused, food pantries and 153 elementary schools through the Buddy Pack Program. You can pledge to donate a certain amount per point scored, games won or just because you believe in the cause!
Metro Rotary has historically been a strong supporter of local charities, and we know this year will be no different. Please plan to join your fellow Rotarians and other Columbia civic organizations in support of this event.
